Making the Most Out of Resources to Filter Candidates

Torc’s growth in recent years has created an influx of applicants for some of their most desired internship roles. While this has been a good problem to have, it’s been their biggest pain point throughout recruiting seasons. As the Global University Relations and Recruiting Program Manager at Torc, Wayne Epps is part of a small team extending their reach into colleges and universities to connect with students that align with what Torc looks for in ideal candidates. It’s his aim to provide as many opportunities as possible to the students applying, but sometimes it’s hard to navigate the sheer volume of applicants.

Torc was looking for a platform that they could partner with as a smaller resource team and strategize the time spent looking for candidates. 

Recently, Torc had a brand-new team for which they needed to hire interns. Yet, with such specific requirements for the role, they were uncertain about the applicant turnout. By looking through student profiles on Symplicity Recruit, Torc narrowed the list of students to candidates with a background in specific engineering tools that were new on the market.
